Top Area Employers

Everyone, apart from those lucky enough to have generous trust funds, needs a job. Moving from your old city to Garden Grove, California can be nerve wracking because you're never sure if you'll find another job operating an industrial mixer. The best employment prospects are often the biggest companies with the most employees. These are the firms that can afford medical and dental plans for employees and are most likely to need more staff. Here are some of Garden Grove's top employers so you can start getting your resume out there.

Manufacturing

Manufacturing is Garden Grove's largest industry, and most of its largest employers fall into this category. If you have experience driving vacuum trucks this is your most likely sector in which to find a job. In fact, 23% of the work force in Garden Grove is employed by a manufacturing firm. Most of the activity focuses on the aerospace. The largest employers are C&D Zodiac Incorporated, which manufactures aircraft interiors, the Air Industries Corporation, which produces the bolts and fasteners that hold the parts of an airplane together, and GKN Aerospace, which makes airframes, integrated systems, and various other parts. The only top employer not directly involved in making airplanes is Saint Gobain Performance Plastics.

Retail

All cities have retail sales industries. The only difference between them is the size of the industry. While not a traditional shopping destination, three of the companies on Garden Grove's top employers list are from the retail sales sector. The largest is the Office Max company, which sells office supplies, second largest is Money Mailers, who create mail-out coupons for retailers, and third is the Costco Wholesale Corp, which sells everything from cell phone accessories to diapers. Likely positions in these companies include anything in administration, management, and sales.

Health Care

Medicine is a boom industry in North America, so it's no surprise that there are employment opportunities for those with medical training at two companies involved in health care that are among Garden Grove's top employers. The second largest employer in the city is Garden Grove Hospital, which is involved in all aspects of medical care from group insurance for your post card printing company employees to emergency surgery. A lesser top employer is Leiner Health Products, which is one of the largest producers of herbal and vitamin supplements in the country.

Other

The biggest employer in the city has over 600 employees and is also the city's most popular attraction: the Crystal Cathedral. Number five on the list is the Hyatt Regency Hotel. It has 400 employees to handle private stays, guest services, and front license plate bracket manufacturer conventions. Positions at these companies include religious instructors, tourism managers, and support workers.
